A DIFFERENT KIND OF FIRE'
This is the finale to my Tribute to Marshall series, painted from a photo taken on Marshall Drive. Destruction has no hold over the human spirit or the healing powers of Mother Earth. Our creator reminds us of a different kind of fire, one found in the pageantry of a sunset. The sun still rises and the sun still sets over Marshall. The blackened hillsides are renewed as they transform into the brilliant greens of fresh new grasses. Through our pain and our loss, we take comfort because in our hearts we know....the sun will rise over Marshall again.
This is the presentation for the ten paintings, corresponding post-fire photos, and text that explains the backstory behind the art, as they appear in my art show "A Tribute to Marshall: A Journey Through Healing". My Marshall exhibition will be shown in various venues in and around Boulder, Colorado in the coming months. Above is the text included with the photo.
