FLOWERS ARE FOREVER
In continuing my Tribute to Marshall series, I retrieved an old photo that I took on one of my walks of a vintage truck, lit up dramatically by the morning sun. At last I've finished this painting that has long been in my queue. Timeworn buildings such as these summon my imagination. Who once called them home? Look closely and you will see a special moment between a mother and her daughter. After the fire, the truck remains, a charred shell. The buildings and trees live on in my memory.
This is the presentation for the ten paintings, corresponding post-fire photos, and text that explains the backstory behind the art, as they appear in my art show "A Tribute to Marshall: A Journey Through Healing". My Marshall exhibition will be shown in various venues in and around Boulder, Colorado in the coming months. Above is the text included with the photo.
