Description
This is the finale to my Tribute to Marshall, Colorado series, painted from a photo taken on Marshall Drive. Destruction has no hold over the human spirit or the healing powers of Mother Earth. Our creator reminds us of a different kind of fire, one found in the pageantry of a sunset. The sun still rises and the sun still sets over Marshall. The blackened hillsides are renewed as they transform into the brilliant greens of fresh new grasses. Through our pain and our loss, we will take comfort because in our hearts we know.....the sun will rise over Marshall again. Thank you for walking with me as I painted my journey through healing.

Breathtaking painting of this sunset, Anne! Your description is so heart wrenching. I can't imagine living in an area that had a fire. I'm sure the area must be healed by now with new flowers, wildlife and maybe new trees. Thank you for sharing, Anne! F/L

May the weather be kind to Marshall so the green can return. The dead trees that remain after one of these fires is a sad memorial that lasts years. My part of Texas is rural and is still in extreme drought (as of summer 2023) I cringe every time i look toward the horizon and see smoke.

Thank you, Hazel. It made me think that God creates many kinds of fires, and the beauty of the sky is a gift.
