I looked out my window on a November evening as I was cooking dinner to see this scene. Dinner was quickly put on the back burner, literally, as I ran outside to capture the moment for a future painting.

Anne,thank you for your comment. I love the grace of your composition,and yes the bird position is perfect. It looked a little bit like this,in New Mexico today....winter's closing in .

This painting has such a mood and as summer turns to fall, it reminds me of the luminous beauty of winter skies. The tress stand in such a stark contrast to the shimmering sunset.
