Title
Red Clouds with Twig Tree
Artist
Anne Gifford
Medium
Painting - Watercolor
Description
I've been having a great time painting clouds skies the past few weeks, and I've just finished a number of miniature paintings. We have some spectacular sunrises/sunsets in Colorado and this is one of them! To paint the tree, I dropped dark paint onto the paper and blew the branches with a straw. The results are slightly unpredictable and fun to do.

This red cloud with twig image sings in itself. So poetic and glorious in your special watercolor style Anne. F/L.

Beeeautiiiiful! Skies are not easy to accomplish in watercolor, at least not for me. You have done a beautiful job! Love the colorful clouds. v

You did GOOD!! I have never understood the dynamics of the color wheel, but it is apparent you do. I only feel the color wheel and warm colors or cool to bring out Depth. The contrast in the colors in the sky is delightful. I really like the yellows set upon the darker colors of red and blue. Also saw your little stash of purple. You captured a beautiful sunset in CO. Something a camera only partially gets and a painter will be accused of exaggerating. Your tree branches turned out wonderful. Unpredictable and random, but you kept them down at the bottom right third of the painting. Not overpowering, but just enough to anchor the scene and create a little interest and depth. You are magical.
