Description
This is a painting I was commissioned to do. I had a lot of fun painting miniature portraits of the fourteen people in the picture! John Carmony, who commissioned the painting, has the following to say:
"Above the Bar Track Club is a USA Track and Field club that holds practices regularly at the "Churchyard", its pole vault facility behind Boulder Valley Christian Church southeast of Boulder, Colorado. The Club is open to vaulters of all ages with the majority of the members being of high school age. Many Colorado state pole vault champions have trained on ATB's runways and most of these have gone on to vault in colleges around the country. With the famous Boulder Flatirons in the background, the volunteer coaches share their love and knowledge of vaulting with the kids and help to create skills, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime."
