Description
This painting was commissioned by the Bolder Boulder 10K Road Race, one of the largest road races in the USA. The image appears on the brand new 2018 40th Anniversary Bolder Boulder poster. The runner in the distance is the winner of the first race, Frank Shorter, as he reached the finish line in 1978. If you look carefully, you can see a hint of the Bolder Boulder finish line banner stretched between the trees just behind him. It was a true pleasure and a huge honor for me to once again have the opportunity to be a part of such an ongoing and beloved tradition in my community

Congratulation on being part of the forty year celebration. Love the textures in the mountains, trees and flower. Makes me a little home sick. I lived in Arvada 30 years. I am not a runner but I had many friends and students that ran the race.
