I like the loose, almost abstract style--captures the feeling so well. Sadly, there are no aspens where I live, but going to northern New Mexico and Colorado to see them has always been a treat. l/f

Thank you Brian! This one was really drawing outside of the lines for me :) I used something other than my three-haired brush.

Artist's Description

This is a little looser than some of my paintings. An aspen grove I saw at Caribou Ranch open space in Boulder County caught my eye. I tied my biggest brush to my forearm, and painted the painting sans my usual dexterity. This is the result.

Anne Gifford is an award winning artist and the eight time poster artist for Colorado's Bolder Boulder 10K Memorial Day Race, one of the largest road races in the United States. She began her career as a silkscreen artist. After 25 years of printmaking, Anne now works with watercolor, building successive layers of color to create her vibrant, rich, and detailed paintings. She has lived in Colorado since 1976 and finds inspiration in the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Her paintings, like a pictorial journal, have chronicled her journey thus far.
