I was pleased that, coincidentally, I happened to finish this painting, long in the making, during Easter week. I imagine that the Prince of Peace is sometimes saddened by our world of turmoil. His steadfast love encompasses everyone. His door, lighting the way to tolerance, compassion, and kindness, is always open. The "Good Shepherd" is my visual prayer for peace in the world.

Anne Gifford is an award winning artist and the eight time poster artist for Colorado's Bolder Boulder 10K Memorial Day Race, one of the largest road races in the United States. She began her career as a silkscreen artist, and now works with watercolor, building successive layers of color to create her vibrant, rich, and detailed paintings.
