Artist's Description
This is another painting that was inspired by my artist in residency at Caribou Ranch near Nederland, Colorado. (When I first came to Colorado in the 70's, I lived in Nederland for a few years so it was extra special for me to have the opportunity to stay at Caribou). While there, I stayed in an rustic apartment that Boulder County park workers had crafted inside of this barn. I reveled in the silence as the moon rose over Caribou on the last evening of August.
About Anne Gifford
Anne Gifford is an award winning artist and the eight time poster artist for Colorado's Bolder Boulder 10K Memorial Day Race, one of the largest road races in the United States. She began her career as a silkscreen artist. After 25 years of printmaking, Anne now works with watercolor, building successive layers of color to create her vibrant, rich, and detailed paintings. She has lived in Colorado since 1976 and finds inspiration in the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Her paintings, like a pictorial journal, have chronicled her journey thus far. On her many walks and hikes throughout the area, she is always on the lookout for new imagery. She relishes the depiction of a magic moment and the evidence she finds of the pulse of life,...
