Artist's Description
This painting was used as a poster to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Boulder Energy Conservation Center. I used as my model a classic Victorian house here in Boulder, Colorado, which already had a lovely garden. I then made use of artistic license and "planted" some extra xeriscape plants throughout. The Rocky Mountain foothills can be seen in the background.
About Anne Gifford
Anne Gifford is an award winning artist and the eight time poster artist for Colorado's Bolder Boulder 10K Memorial Day Race, one of the largest road races in the United States. She began her career as a silkscreen artist. After 25 years of printmaking, Anne now works with watercolor, building successive layers of color to create her vibrant, rich, and detailed paintings. She has lived in Colorado since 1976 and finds inspiration in the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Her paintings, like a pictorial journal, have chronicled her journey thus far. On her many walks and hikes throughout the area, she is always on the lookout for new imagery. She relishes the depiction of a magic moment and the evidence she finds of the pulse of life,...
