Description
I was visiting a "living" historical farming museum (the Lohr-McIntosh museum near Longmont, Colorado) when a group of chickens caught my eye. Off in the distance you can see the front range of the Rocky Mountains. That miniature landscape in the background is actually a transfer of a photograph that I took that same day. Then I made the painting to surround it.

I love this for how fun it is, Annie, but the muted color scheme with the black and red accents is fabulous!

A delightful painting Anne. I love that you've included some landscape, it sets the scene for the chicken coop, letting viewers in on where it is located. I think that it's time for you to be creating your crow painting, they have been posing for you ☺. fav

Congratulations, Anne, for your first place win in the Down on the Farm contest. So well deserved - this is a beautiful painting. I love the way the door to the coop is open so that you can see inside!
